TEHRAN, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations has denied a media report concerning a prisoner swap agreement between Iran and the United States, the official IRNA news agency reported on Monday.

"This news is not confirmed," Majid Takht Ravanchi, the representative, told IRNA.

According to the media outlet that reported the alleged deal on Sunday, Iran would release four U.S. and British prisoners in exchange for four Iranian prisoners in the United States, as well as the release of 7 billion U.S. dollars in Iran's frozen assets.

Iran has always emphasized the comprehensive exchange of prisoners with the United States, Takht Ravanchi told IRNA. Enditem
