China's Yang breaks women's 200m freestyle Asian record

ZHAOQING, China, March 6 (Xinhua) -- Chinese swimmer Yang Junxuan broke the Asian record in the women's 200m freestyle to win the title on Saturday, with a time of one minute 54.70 seconds.

It was the first Asian record at the national swimming meet in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province.

Yang, 19, who specializes in the 200m freestyle, won a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, and took a fifth place at the 2019 Worlds in Gwangju.

In the men's 200m free final, Ji Xinjie, bronze medalist at the 2018 Asian Games, won gold in 1:46.94.

Wang Guanbin and Peng Xuwei claimed the men's and women's 100m backstroke titles respectively, while Qin Haiyang finished first in the men's 200m breaststroke.

Zhang Yufei, who took two golds on Friday, continued her good form and won the women's 200m butterfly. Enditem
