MADRID, June 17 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the club is close to sealing the signing of Dutch international striker Memphis Depay from Olympique Lyon.

Former Netherlands boss Koeman made the remarks after Depay, who is currently on international duty with the Netherlands at the European Championship, said it would be "a dream" to work with Koeman again.

Speaking at a charity golf event, Koeman confirmed that negotiations between Barca and the striker were drawing to a close.

"Memphis has said something in respect to his future and I can confirm it. As far as I know everything is well on the way. The deal hasn't been signed yet, but almost," said the coach, who made no effort to hide his wish to add Depay to his squad.

"I wanted to sign him in January and if he does come now, then that is great for us," added Koeman.

If Depay does end up at the Camp Nou, he will be the club's fourth signing of the summer after striker Sergio Aguero and defender Eric Garcia joined on free transfers from Manchester City, and full-back Emerson Royal rejoined the club after two-and-a-half years on loan at Real Betis. Enditem
