MADRID, July 18 (Xinhua) -- Spanish football club Deportivo Alaves on Sunday announced the signing of Chinese born goalkeeper Jan Xin Henseler Gallego for their women's team for the next two years.

The 17-year-old, who will be 18 at the end of September, joins a team that recently won promotion to the top flight of the women's league in Spain (Primera Division Feminina) to compete against teams such as European champions FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Jana Xin is noted for her reflexes between the posts and the former Atletico Madrid B-team player actually played against Alaves in the game that saw the team from the city of Vitoria (northern Spain) win promotion to the elite.

The official Alaves website highlights that the young goalkeeper's performance in that game prevented them from winning by more than the 2-0 result, which assured their promotion. Enditem
