ACCRA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Ghana will host the 2021 African Youth Chess Championships here on Friday, with about 150 players from 15 countries participating in the competition.

The championships, which runs through to September 26, includes various age categories from U-8 to U-18.

The Ghanaian team is led by nine-year-old Dave Chief Quansah Acheampong, the current U-9 African champion.

"This is a good opportunity for us to showcase our talent in chess as a country and certainly Ghana will emerge victorious," Quansah Acheampong told Xinhua.
