LUANDA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- Angola's Secretary of State for Industry, Ivan do Prado, on Wednesday said the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) appears to be an opportunity for the expansion of exports of products made in Angola considering the territorial dimension and proximity between countries.

Prado made the statement at the opening of the webinar on the internationalization of Angolan companies in ECOWAS, which served as the launch of the 1st edition of Angola-ECOWAS International Business Fair (FINAC), to be held in the first quarter of 2022 in Luanda.

The official spoke of the importance of creating unifying contexts to pave the way for effective internationalization of African companies, having highlighted the political efforts for the implementation and operationalization of a common African market, such as the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Prado said he hopes FINAC will become a space for the creation of common visions that leverage trade, strengthen economies of the countries and lead to the improvement in the quality of life of its citizens.

The Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Lopes, in his turn, said the ECOWAS represents a large consumer market eager for products from Angola and to do business with Angola.

The FINAC is expected to bring together more than 300 exhibitors from domestic to foreign ones, with investments in agribusiness, industry, trade, sports, tourism, among others. Enditem
