At least 2 killed in gas pipeline blast in India's Gujarat

NEW DELHI, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and a few others injured on Tuesday after a gas pipeline blasted in the Western Indian state of Gujarat, officials said.

The pipeline blasted in the Kalol area of Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat.

Two residential houses collapsed and several structures were damaged due to the blast.

"Today a gas pipeline blasted in a residential area here due to which two houses were collapsed," a police official said. "Two people were killed and few others injured in the blast."

Police have launched investigation into cause of the blast. Enditem
