1 killed, 3 injured as blast hits health workers vehicle outside Afghan capital

KABUL, May 5 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and three others were injured as a bomb blast struck a mini-bus carrying health workers in Kalakan area outside Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Wednesday, Kabul police spokesman Ferdaus Faramarz said.

"The gruesome incident which claimed one life and injured three others took place at 06:40 a.m. local time in Kalakan area on the road linking Kabul to the northern provinces," Faramarz told Xinhua.

Without providing more details, the official said that investigation had been initiated into the incident.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

This is the second bomb attack on a vehicle over the past two days.

The first blast, which targeted a police van in southern Uruzgan province on Tuesday, killed one police constable and injuried a civilian, according to local officials. Enditem
