12 more U.S. soldiers in S. Korea test positive for COVID-19, 897 in total

SEOUL, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Twelve more U.S. soldiers in South Korea tested positive for COVID-19, Yonhap news agency reported Thursday citing the U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) command.

Eleven USFK service members were confirmed with COVID-19 after arriving here between May 22 and June 6.

One service member, stationed at the U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys, tested positive on Wednesday.

The confirmed patients have been transferred to designated isolation facilities at the U.S. army bases.

The total number of infections among the USFK-affiliated personnel rose to 897, according to Yonhap.

In the latest tally, South Korea reported 611 more cases of COVID-19 for the past 24 hours, raising the total number of infections to 146,303. Enditem
