Brunei reports 4 new imported COVID-19 cases

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported four new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the national tally to 266.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, Case 263 is a 42-year-old man with no signs of infections. Case 264 is a man aged 41 with cough symptoms. Case 265 is a woman, 23, with symptoms of cough and high fever. Case 266 is a 1-year-old boy who has no signs of infection.

All new cases arrived in the country from Surabaya, Indonesia on June 23. Investigation and contact tracing have confirmed no close contacts for these cases as they were quarantined upon arrival.

The new cases are being treated and monitored at the National Isolation Center with four other active patients, who are all in a stable condition.

With the detection of the new cases, a total of 125 imported cases have been confirmed since the last local infection case on May 6, 2020. Brunei has recorded 426 days without local COVID-19 infection cases.

Brunei also reported three recoveries on Tuesday. There have been a total of 255 recovered patients and three deaths from COVID-19 so far in the country. Enditem
