COVID-19 cases increase to 212,545 in Myanmar

YANGON, July 15 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Myanmar increased to 212,545 on Thursday after 4,188 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, according to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sports.

A total of 165 new deaths were reported, bringing the death toll to 4,346 in the country as of Thursday, the release said.

According to the ministry's release, a total of 153,609 patients have been discharged from the hospitals and over 2.92 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.

Myanmar detected its first two COVID-19 cases on March 23 last year. Enditem
