MANILA, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- Sara Duterte-Carpio, the daughter of Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, is the top pick for president in the 2022 elections, according to an independent poll released on Wednesday.
A national survey by Pulse Asia conducted on Sept. 6-11 showed that 20 percent of 2,400 adult Filipinos aged 18 and above expressed support for Sara as a "probable" presidential candidate.
The First Daughter, 43, is the mayor of Duterte's hometown Davao City. She maintained her lead in the presidential survey despite an 8 percentage-point drop from her 28 percent score in June.
The popular mayor has earlier said that she will not run for president, adding she would seek reelection as Davao City mayor instead.
Three politicians, Manila mayor Francisco Domagoso, who is better known by his celebrity screen name Isko Moreno, former national police chief Panfilo Lacson, senator and boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao, have so far declared their candidacy for president.
