NILI, Afghanistan, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Police in the central Daykundi province have discovered four kg of heroin and arrested four alleged drug smugglers, provincial police chief Sediqullah Abid said Monday.
Police found the heroin from the cavities of a motorbike in Nili city on Sunday and arrested four people on charge of attempting to sell the contraband to the local drug addicts.
More than 3 million drug addicts with some 50,000 of them in Daykundi reportedly exist in the war-torn Afghanistan.
The new administration has vowed to fight against illicit drug until the country gets rid of the menace. Enditem
