MOSCOW, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko discussed topical issues on the bilateral agenda during a phone call Wednesday.

"A number of topical issues on the bilateral agenda were discussed, including interaction within the framework of the Union State," the Kremlin said in a statement.
