German shares almost unchanged at start of trading on Thursday

BERLIN, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- German shares were almost unchanged at the start of trading on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index losing 24.31 points, or 0.15 percent, opening at 15,681.5 points.

The biggest winner among Germany's 40 largest listed companies was aircraft manufacturer Airbus, increasing by 3.04 percent, followed by sportswear manufacturer Puma with 2.03 percent and chipmaker Infineon with 1.03 percent.

On Thursday, Airbus announced that revenues in the first nine months of financial 2021 grew by 17 percent year-on-year to 35.2 billion euros (about 40.9 billion U.S. dollars) as Europe's largest aircraft manufacturer delivered a total of 424 commercial aircraft.

Shares of Volkswagen fell by 3.04 percent. The German carmaker was the biggest loser at the start of trading on Thursday after operating profit in the third quarter (Q3) fell by 12.1 percent year-on-year due to global supply shortages.

The yield on German ten-year bonds increased 0.0225 percentage points to minus 0.1565 percent and the euro was trading almost unchanged at 1.1603 U.S. dollars, decreasing by 0.02 percent on Thursday morning. Enditem
