JERUSALEM, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- The first commercial passenger flight by a carrier from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) landed on Monday in Israel, about a month after the two countries signed a normalization deal.

The UAE's Etihad Airways flight landed at the Ben Gurion airport outside Tel Aviv on Monday morning. A few hours later, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner departed en route to Abu Dhabi, Israel's Airports Authority said in a statement.

A statement issued by Etihad said that onboard was an Israeli travel and tourism delegation to the UAE. The carrier said it will operate regular passenger flights between the UAE and Israel and has launched a Hebrew language website for flight bookings.

The two countries plan to officially sign an agreement on Tuesday, under which 28 commercial flights between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi or Dubai could be carried out each week, according to a statement issued by the Israeli transportation ministry.

The agreement also allows an unlimited number of charter flights to the smaller Ramon Airport outside Israel's southern resort city of Eilat and 10 cargo flights. Enditem
