Turkey's foreign trade deficit exceeds 45 bln USD

ANKARA, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's foreign trade deficit has surged beyond 45 billion U.S. dollars from January to November this year, up 82.5 percent from the same period last year, the country's statistical authorities said Thursday.

Turkey's foreign trade deficit stood at 5 billion U.S. dollars in November alone, registering a 153.5 percent growth year on year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).

The country's exports fell 8.3 percent to 151.6 billion U.S. dollars, while imports rose 3.5 percent to 197 billion U.S. dollars. Enditem
