BEIRUT, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun on Sunday condemned the assassination attempt against Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi after an explosive-laden drone targeted his residence in the capital Baghdad.
A statement released by Lebanon's Presidency stated that "the assassination attempt targets not only the person of al-Kadhimi but also Iraq's stability and security and the efforts made to strengthen Iraqi national unity."
Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati called the Iraqi prime minister to congratulate him for his safety following the assassination attempt. Enditem
