Guangzhou smashes Suzhou, Shandong beats Zhejiang at CFA Cup

CHANGZHOU, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Guangzhou R&F smashed Suzhou Dongwu 6-1 while Shandong Luneng beat Zhejiang Greentown 2-0 in the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup here on Sunday.

Guangzhou broke the deadlock in the 26th minute with a low drive from Brazilian midfielder Renatinho after he cut in from the right to make it 1-0.

Just six minutes later, Dutch forward Richairo Zivkovic scored with a sweet backheel for Guangzhou after receiving a pinpoint cross from forward Song Wenjie.

Guangzhou enlarged the lead with an own goal from defender Zhang Jingzhe before the game went into stoppage time of the first half.

Van Bronckhorst's side didn't relent. Song and Zivkovic each scored a goal early in the second half. Song scored his second after he was clean through on goal in the 68th minute to make it 6-0. Substitute defender Tang Chuang pulled one back for Suzhou.

Elsewhere, Shandong Luneng clinched a 2-0 victory over Zhejiang Greentown. Shandong posed a threat in the first half, but no goals were scored. Forward Guo Tianyu missed a good scoring opportunity when veteran Hao Junmin broke clear on the right and sent a low cross, but his shot was wide of the target.

Marouane Fellaini came off the bench to break the deadlock for Shandong with a header in the 53rd minute to make it 1-0. Substitute Liu Duanyu's goal in the 70th minute helped Shandong seal the victory. Enditem
