BEIJING, Jan. 7 (Xinhua) -- Anti-pornographic and illegal publications departments in China dealt with more than 11,000 cases related to the spread of such content in 2020, Chinese authorities said on Thursday.

More than 17 million illegal publications were seized during law enforcement operations, according to authorities.

Relevant departments made special efforts to curb the emergence of pornographic livestreaming, tightening the supervision of livestreaming apps and platforms to better regulate tipping for livestreamers.

The departments also paid significant attention to protecting the rights of juveniles, dismantling child pornography websites and seizing publications that are particularly harmful to youth.

The departments have vowed to further intensify their crackdown on illegal information and content so as to create a healthier social and cultural atmosphere. Enditem
