BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- Beijing has administered coronavirus vaccines to more than 10 million people, with the oldest vaccine recipient aged 100, the municipal health commission said Friday.

As of 3 p.m. Friday, an approximate total 16.05 million doses of domestically developed COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the Chinese capital. More than 6 million people have completed the two-shot regimen and approximately 3.96 million have received their first shot.

Roughly 9.33 million of the vaccine recipients are aged between 18 and 59, and nearly 60 percent of the age group has had their first shot of the vaccine.

The megacity of more than 20 million people has to date vaccinated over 670,000 residents aged 60 and above, 551 of whom are over 90 years of age, said the commission. Enditem
