MACAO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Monday reported three new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the SAR to 74, according to the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Center of Macao.

The SAR started the third round of mass testing late on Monday, which is scheduled to be completed within three days.

The 72nd case, a 46-year-old housing decoration worker from the mainland, had stayed in Macao since Sept. 26 and the man had stayed at three hotels in Macao during the past days, the center said.

The 73rd case was a 52-year-old male co-worker of the 72nd case. They had been working together recently, said the center. The 74th case was a 40-year-old Vietnamese man who had worked at the working place of the prior two cases.

The source of the infections is unclear yet, the center said.

Lo Iek Long, director of the Macao Health Bureau, warned against the risk of community spread of the virus, calling for residents to stay at home as much as possible. Enditem
